Congratulations to the Silver Spirit Band!

2011 Finalists in the SCBDA 5A State Marching Championship!

The Silver Spirit Band competed on Saturday, November 5 against the bands in class 5A in South Carolina. Class 5A is derived from the 16 largest high schools in our state.

There were 14 bands in contention for the 5A State championship.

All bands performed in preliminary competition. From that, the top 8 highest scoring bands moved on to the Finals.

The Silver Spirit Band earned the 8th spot in the Finals competition.

The band put together perhaps its best performance of the season

Friday (11/4/2011) - Away game at Irmo

  • Last REGULAR season football game (we could be in playoffs so its not over yet!)
  • Report time: 5:30pm You will have 15 minutes to dress in FULL UNIFORM and get your instrument ready to load.  Arrive earlier if you need more time.
  • The band will depart DFHS at 5:45pm
  • Full Uniform
  • They are performing the last half of the show at Half Time
  • Dismiss from band room: 10:45pm

Saturday (11/5/2011) - SC 5A Marching Band Championships

  • South Carolina State University in Orangeburg
  • Report Time 10am
  • DFBB will feed the band "lunch" before we leave at 11am
  • Preliminary
